One of the most common causes that athletes come in for a bike fit is due to back pain. Nothing can slow you faster, cause moresuffering, and increase the suck factor more than a nagging pain in the back. A lot of athletes will try to increase core strength to better support their back which is a great idea (note that core strength is more than crunches) but a lot of the time the problem lies a little lower.
